The JoyWorks ministry is members volunteering to serve in a variety of functions during Sunday morning worship services and the coffee hour during Sunday School and Adult Forum. Roles include Greeters, Communion Servers, Lectors/Readers, Refreshment Servers, Cookie and Bakers. All other JoyWorks roles are typically for a single Sunday or group of Sundays within a given month. Interested? GREETER: Smile! Shake hands! Arrive 15 minutes early and extend a warm welcome to folks as they arrive. Make people feel welcome.
COMMUNION SERVER: Assist the pastor during the service by serving one of the communion elements or picking up the empty cups.
LECTOR/READER: Read the lessons for Sunday services clearly and with feeling. Review the scripture lesson prior to Sunday morning (You'll get a notice in the mail telling you what it is). Speak clearly and directly into the microphone.
REFRESHMENT SERVERS: Make sure the coffee is on, the cream and sugar is out, cookies are ready to go. Clean up duties apply after second service. Smiling required! Cookies are kept in the freezer in the kitchen. Please call Refreshment Server Substitutes if unable to serve the Sunday you were assigned.
COOKIE BAKER: 5 to 10 dozen cookies delivered to the freezer downstairs before Sunday at 8:00am. Cookie bakers DO NOT serve refreshments on Sunday mornings.
